Elizabeth Allen Edwards

After I graduated from NC State with BS Mechanical Engineering in '87, I worked in Boston and Philly for Raytheon Corp in their consulting engineering division. In 1991 I relocated to Chicago with Raytheon for contracts in the pharmaceutical industry. In Chicago, my life took an unexpected and exhilarating turn when I discovered improv at The Second City and the ioChicago theaters. For the past 20+ years, I've immersed myself in improv - performing, directing, coaching - while working as a freelance technical writer. Along the way, I met my hubby Doug, also a mechanical engineer (Drexel, '87), we had a baby, and now we live in Las Vegas where Doug works in gaming industry. I had a bout with thyroid cancer, which appears all gone now, thankfully. As I continue to feel stronger, I am getting back to teaching improv and writing. So, that's my news.

I remember home room a lot, and chatting with Barb Bercik. It seemed Elyse Berkowitz always had something interesting to say, and Linda Apple. Nancy Banner's thick, pretty blonde hair was never out of place. I sat behind Jim Andrianos, I recall, which was not unpleasant.
I moved to Mt Lebanon in the 10th grade from North Carolina, so I felt like each day I met new people, and home rom kicked off my days of new experiences.
